East Central High School Soccer Varsity Boys falls to Floyd Central High School 1-2
Soccer Varsity Boys
The East Central Boys’ Soccer team took on Floyd Central Saturday afternoon at home. The Trojans looked to improve to 2-1 after a grueling week of taking on the perennial Columbus powerhouses. Right from the start the game proved to be fast paced and physical. Floyd Central struck first as they found the back of the net at the 16:01 mark in the first half. The Trojans kept creating chances but couldn’t get any to fall. The start of the second half was much like the first and Floyd Central scored at the 37:24 mark of the half. At about midway through Floyd’s stopper made a malicious play on the Trojan’s midfielder with a strike to the head which lead to a yellow card for him. This only proved to fire up the players as Sam Burns found the back of the net at the 15:02 mark. The Trojan’s kept pressing and pressing and created chance after chance but just couldn’t find the netting. The Trojan’s out shot Floyd 13-9 but was a little unlucky on the finishing chances. The Boy’s played well and with some heart but sometimes you just fall unlucky in games. The Boy’s look to rebound as they take on Connersville Tuesday night at home starting at 5:00 pm.
