Game Recap
EC traveled to Brownstown Central for the highly competitive 2013 BCHS Volleyball Invitational.

Eight teams divided into two pools. Pool A invitees: host Brownstown Central, East Central, Warren Central, Columbus East. Pool B contained: Seymour, Silver Creek, Bloomington South, and Cardinal Ritter. Tournament consisted of 3 pool play games for seeding then cross play for finals.

The Trojans squared up with #1 ranked (3A) Brownstown Central in the first match-up, loosing 1-2 in the three game format. EC won game one in exciting fashion 26-24 on a game winning ace by Nicole Sandmann. Brownstown Central dominated games two (12-25) and three (16-25) as the Lady Braves tightened up the defense and went on the attack.

EC took on #6 ranked (4A) Columbus East in the second of three pool play games. East winning 2-0, 25-13 and 25-15, behind the high powered attack of freshman Courtney VanLiew.

In a smoking hot Brownstown Central gym, EC defeated the Warren Central Lady Warriors 2-0 in the final pool play contest, winning 25-16 and 28-26, a game winning block by Josie Andres ended game two in extra play.

The cross play match-up paired EC (1-2) against #3 ranked (2A) Cardinal Ritter (1-2) for 5th place in the tournament. The Raiders won 2-0 in a hard fought contest, winning 28-26 in game one extras and 25-21 in game two. The championship paired 3-0 Seymour against 3-0 Columbus East in the final.

EC finished in 6th place. The Trojans record falls to 6-5 on the year (2-1 EIAC), all five losses to ranked opponents.
