Game Recap
The Trojan Men’s Soccer team traveled to Pike High School to take on 3 very Quality opponents. The first in line was Hamilton Southeastern. On Friday night the rain was relenting and made playing conditions a little tough. The Trojans were up against an extremely talented team but felt up to the challenge. The first half was a back and forth competition which saw both teams playing well and having opportunities to score but the play of Trojans keeper Jacob Zengerling helped keep the ball out of the netting and some missed shots over the goal while 1v1 helped Southeastern stay tied. The second half was much of the same. Then came a very questionable call of a soft foul in the box that lead to a PK for Hamilton. Rising to the occasion again was Trojan keeper Zengerling as he made the save to the right netting and kept the Trojans 0-0. Hamilton then finally found a goal midway through the second half to go up 1-0 but the Trojans never stopped coming as the chances were made but the finish just wasn’t there. “It was a good game in some very bad conditions but the boys played well against a team that was top 20 coming in. This is the types of games that you can learn and grow from as a team.”-Coach Black
