The East Central Lady Trojans Volleyball teams hosted the annual Dig Pink event on October 16 against Franklin County. This event is to help raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer.
This year, all three teams wore pink uniforms and played with pink volleyballs. The committee held a bake sale and raffled off several items as well as took free will donations. The volleyball team sold t-shirts to help raise some extra money.
Typically, the money raised gets donated to a foundation that supports the cause, however, this year, we wanted to do something a little closer to home. The East Central volleyball teams, parents, and coaches are proud to announce that we are donating $950 to Kristy Huismann who was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer. We felt it necessary to support someone local, with ties to the school and the volleyball program and had an overwhelming response when her name was brought up.
Good luck in your fight, Kristy! The entire ECVB community is supporting and praying for you!
Thanks to our committee for doing such a great job to make the night a success! Also, thank-you to all of those who came out to support the Lady Trojans and this very important cause! EC volleyball along with Kristy and her family are extremely grateful for your contributions!
