Boys Junior Varsity Soccer, Boys Varsity Soccer · EC Men’s Soccer defeats SD


The East Central Men’s Soccer team traveled to South Dearborn last night to take on the Knights. The Trojans were looking to stayed perfect in the early season of conference play and they got off to a good start. At the 32:15 mark in the first half Tyler Koelling served a ball to Kameron Siebert who finished it into the upper corner. Shortly after at the 30:05 mark Nate Weis passed the ball across goal where Jared Tiemann was there to finish and put the Trojans up 2-0. The knights then struck at the 26:55 mark as #6 Jared Brose hit a ball high that bounced of the keepers hands and in. The Trojans then answered back when Adam Huntington served a pass to Mason Volker who put the ball away at the 24:23 mark. Not long after it was Mason Volker again who scored during the 20:56 mark as teammate Seth Bittner made a great play on the ball to free up Mason’s shot. The Knights struck again in the 5′ mark as #14 Justin Jones ran by the defense and scored the second goal of the game for the Trojans. Shortly after Isaac Depue of the Trojans hit the 5th goal of the game for the Trojans (2:14). Then right before the half the Trojans scored with about 4 seconds left in the first half as Mark Bertke ran by the defense and finished the ball. The Trojans were up 6-2 at half. The second half began fast and furious as Mason Volker fed a pass to Nate Weis who finished the play at the 32′ mark. At the 30′ mark Jon Bischoff fed the ball to Isaac Depue who buried the ball. All the Trojan subs came in and continued to good play. at 22:26 in the second half Seth Bittner passed it to Austin Bauman who scored his first goal of the season. Then Nathan Barga stepped in front of the defense and stole the pass to take it himself and score at 11:44. To finish off the action Andrew Hudepohl left a ball for Nathan Priebe who finished the ball into the netting with 3:41 left in the contest.
