Game Recap

East Central retains the trophy between these two I-74 rival schools after a 24-hour kickoff delay. Friday Night football was postponed due to persistant lightning in the area, however both teams and their fans were ready for action Saturday night.

After a slow start resulting in a 0-0 first quarter, East Central put up the first points just before halftime with a 26 yard field goal by Nick Stidham. With 33 seconds left in the first half Harrison made their mark with Frankie Young keeping the ball for a 7 yard touchdown run.

The third quarter was all EC, and all Garren Messmore. The senior had two touchdown runs, a 53 yard run and a 54 yard run. Messmore would finish the night with 26 carries for 204 yards, plus a 32 yard reception.

The Wildcats brought the score a little closer as Young passed to Nick VanDerpohl for a 29 yard touchdown. In the end the Trojans went home the victors.
