Boys Junior Varsity Soccer, Boys Varsity Soccer · EC beats FC

On Thursday night the EC Men’s Soccer team traveled to Franklin County for a match against the Wildcats. The game started how the Trojans had imagined, they took possession of the ball and rarely gave it up. at the 34:46 mark in the first half Nate Weis passed to Tyler Koelling who finished of the attempt to make it 1-0 in favor of the Trojans. The Trojans kept pounding the ball at goal but could not find anymore goals. The Wildcats dropped many kids behind the ball and played very defense. Playing with 9 back and 1 target man up is a tough spot to try and find space offensively. The Trojans held the run of play throughout the game and it stayed 1-0. ” It’s always tough to play back to back days no matter the opponent. We played Columbus East the night before and expended a lot of energy to win 1-0. This was a classic trap game, although it wasn’t pretty, at the end of the day a win is a win and we will take it and move on. The FC goalie did a nice job in goal I thought, if not for him and his athleticism it could have been a little more lopsided. Credit to that young man on a nice job. ” – Coach Black
